John Sisk & Son has appointed Leo Martin to the newly created role of chief operating officer for its infrastructure division, reporting directly to group chief executive Paul Brown. Martin joins in January, bringing more than 35 years of civil engineering experience across the UK and Ireland.

The infrastructure division consolidates Sisk’s civil engineering operations and integrates the recently acquired Farrans business. Alan Rodger and Dominic Lavery, managing directors of Sisk Infrastructure and Farrans respectively, will report to Martin. This structure aims to provide focused executive oversight across complex infrastructure projects spanning transportation, aviation, water, energy, flood mitigation, and utilities.

Martin is recognised for his technical expertise, collaborative leadership style, and track record of scaling engineering operations with a strong emphasis on safety culture. Brown highlighted that Martin’s appointment strengthens Sisk’s capability to manage growing infrastructure demands and to build on the company’s reputation for high-quality project delivery across Ireland and the UK.

The addition of Farrans has expanded Sisk’s operational scale and capacity, creating a combined platform positioned for growth in both markets. Martin’s leadership is expected to drive operational efficiency, integrate best practices, and support strategic expansion as infrastructure investment continues to rise across both countries.

Sisk’s executive team emphasises that this leadership structure will enhance project execution and foster innovation in large-scale civil engineering initiatives. The company is positioning itself to respond to the increasing complexity and volume of infrastructure projects across multiple sectors.
